This impressive country house sits above the picturesque village of Wildboarclough, with breath-taking views of the Peak District National Park.
Built in 1815 and furnished in a traditional country house style, Crag Hall is the private country home of The Earl and Countess of Derby. Until recently this Crag Hall was used by only close friends and family but now has become available as by exclusive appointment.
The 11 bedroom property sleeps up to 20 guests. It is ideally suited to extended groups of friends and family coming together. For those really wanting to mark an occasion, there is the option of having a Chef cook for the group throughout your stay or for a special evening of fine dining.
Set within beautiful garden of up to 5 acres, the Hall overlooks the magnificent Shuttlingslow (traditional spelling) Hill and surrounding farmland.
Living Accommodation
Charmingly decorated to a very high standard, you will find a delightful drawing room and study with open fires, which you can relax beside. As well as a country style kitchen there is a beautiful dining room that can seat up to 20 people.
In addition, there is an impressive billiard room where hours of fun can be had with all members of the family, young and old.

There are 11 individually designed bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, 2 of which are ensuite.
The bedrooms have been designed using the best quality fabrics and using the original furniture, giving a warm and homely feel to the property.
Practicalities
There is a small, unfenced stream running through the bottom of the garden 50 yards from the house, children should be supervised in this area.
Crag Hall employs a gardener who may be tending the grounds during your stay. A housekeeper will be on site nearby most days. They will not perform bed making or cleaning and will be available to ask any questions should you need to.

Oil central heating with electric heaters in bedrooms and three open fires. Power and fuel for fires included in price. The central heating supplies most areas of the property, such as bedrooms and additional electric heaters are supplied for your comfort.
Kitchen has two electric oven and hobs, AGA, microwave, fridge/freezer, 4 x fridges, freezer, 2 washing machines, tumble dryer & dishwasher.
4 x TVs with Freeview, 2 x DVDs, CD/radio, iPod dock, Xbox 360.
WiFi, selection of books, games and toys.
Bed linen and towels included in price.
We have access to a cot (own bedding required) and a highchair if required. Requests must be made in advance and cannot be guaranteed.
Large lawned gardens to front and side with badminton, croquet lawn and garden furniture.

Crag Hall is perfectly designed to accommodate large family groups. Sorry but we do not allow stag or hen parties.
BBQ:
There are 2 stone BBQs on site. All trays and cooking utensils available. Simply bring charcoal and lighter fluid.
Pets:
Dogs are welcome downstairs at Crag Hall on stone floors but must not be left unattended. A dog room is available for their sleeping quarters. Dogs are not allowed upstairs in the property. We ask that you also please clear up any dog mess from the garden.
